ENGLISH LITERATURE ZONE- History Overview
English literature has developed many more years ago and the earliest literature period is known as Old English. Firstly this was brought by Anglo Saxon invaders to Britain. Beowulf is considered as the most known work in Old English Period. Later the period of Middle English was arrived and the great Geoffrey Chaucer called as father of English Literature. His Canterbury Tales made a significant impact in the period.
After all this many more English Literature period were developed through years as Renaissance ,Restoration, Romantic, Victorian, and so on. Each period introduced a wide collection of novel, poems and all , with these works a lot of great writers were also born .
